Did you know that Latter-day Saints played an important role in the early history of San Francisco, then known as Yerba Buena? Members of the Ship Brooklyn company helped establish some of the city’s first schools, newspapers, and businesses, while later Latter-day Saints contributed to the development of the American West through endeavors such as the Pony Express.
